A Decade of Focus on Professional Development

Aurora Casket’s Lifetimes Program Recognizes 10 Year Mark

Aurora, IN-February 6, 2013- Aurora Casket Company, the largest privately owned funeral service provider, has spent the last decade offering funeral professionals continuing education opportunities through the Lifetimes program.

“Our goal with the Lifetimes course is to always stay relevant and practical,” Lacy Robinson, the Senior Professional Development Trainer for Aurora said, “The course has evolved to meet the current needs and challenges funeral directors face every day.”

Aurora experts travel nationwide to serve more than 500 funeral professionals every year through Lifetimes. This unique, no-cost, training program is offered through a combination of lecture, discussion and skill practice, tackling modern industry issues.

In 2003, well recognized Ohio licensed funeral director and former National Marketing Director of Doric Vaults JoAnn Baldwin, joined the Aurora team as Manager of Professional Development to create the Lifetimes – A Balanced Funeral Arrangement training program.  Baldwin has since retired and the Lifetimes legacy has continued under the direction of Lacy Robinson, who has contributed greatly to the program’s ongoing content development.

Ten years ago we were not discussing best practices in growing a funeral home’s Facebook page. Today we do. In addition to social media, we now address cremation  hphone inquiries, environmentally-friendly funerals and burials and how to effectively communicate with a multi-generational workforce and client base.”

It is important for homes to have convenient access to training in these areas so that they may grow and change with the industry. Lifetimes will continue to be the leading industry resource, supporting homes in their professional development goals and ultimately facilitating the creation of memorable services for families.
